*On the 20th anniversary of Tupac’s death, a new trailer for the rapper’s forthcoming biopic “All Eyez on Me” has been released.
Director Benny Boom shared the teaser Tuesday morning (Sept. 13) on Instagram.
“So how many of y’all heard what the vice president said about me? Cops kill innocent black folk everyday and grills coming after me?,” Tupac, played by actor Demetrius Shipp Jr., asks in the clip. “But I’m used to people coming at me. This sh** been happening my whole life but you know what I gotta say to these mother f***ers?” The rapper then flips the bird with both hands.
The teaser also includes the 1994 shooting in New York’s Quad Studios where Tupac was shot five times. “If a n**ga coming at me, he gon’ get dealt,” says ‘Pac.

“The Walking Dead” star Danai Gurira stars as Afeni Shakur, while Jamal Woodard takes on the role of Notorious B.I.G.
The film will chronicle Shakur’s upbringing and rise in hip-hop and Hollywood. Boom also confirmed that the biopic will highlight his family’s connections to the Black Panther party and his relationship with his mom.
A release date has yet to be announced. The first teaser arrived in June on what would have been Tupac’s 45th birthday.
Speaking with Vibe in March, actor Jamie Hector (who plays the rapper’s stepfather Mutulu Shakur) discussed Gurira’s portrayal of Afeni.
“She [Gurira] did an amazing job so I look forward to seeing her performance, he said. “It’s a full-out expression of Afeni Shakur.”
Writer Kevin Powell, who covered Tupac extensively, said in death, Tupac is now an even bigger star.
“When you are in the middle of it, you are not thinking global, iconic figure on the level of a Bob Marley, a Nina Simone, the Beatles or Elvis,” Powell told CNN. “I’m talking not just hip hop but globally. I have traveled all over this country and around the world and everywhere I have gone, his name comes up in some form or fashion.”
